Descriptif
The course is divided into two distinct parts.
General Debating.
During the first part of the course the students are introduced to basic rhetorical devices such as logos, pathos, rhetorical questioning ... The teacher uses videos to show the rhetorical devices being used by famous speakers such as Steve Jobs, Obama, Oprah Winfery etc. Students are encouraged to use the techniques during the general debates.
Technical Debating.
During the second part of the course the debates will focus on technical subjects defined by the students with input from technical teachers (eg. Nuclear Energy, Fracking, Smart-grids...).
